Schumer secures $750,000 for Village of Waterloo Waste Water Collection Improvement Project

Village of Waterloo Mayor, Walt Bennett announced that the Village of Waterloo was awarded $750,000 included in the federal appropriations bill signed into law for its Joint Sanitary Sewer Improvements Project with the Town of Waterloo.
Mayor Bennett stated that this funding support will anchor the project funding needed to implement this critical sewer infrastructure project. The Village of Waterloo has committed to improving its sanitary sewer transmission line which includes the Town of Waterloo. It has been 10 years since the last sanitary sewer improvement project and it’s in the village’s capital plan to perform these improvements periodically to help ensure that remaining deficiencies are improved and the sewer system does not regress in its efficiency.
Mayor Bennett specifically thanked US Senator Schumer for his support of this project and inclusion in this Bill. He also thanked US Congresswoman Tenney for her support in the House of Representatives. He stated that the Village of Waterloo, recognized as the Birthplace of Memorial Day, looks forward to showcasing its important national history as we lead into the celebration of America’s amazing 250th Anniversary. He further stated that he hoped that the Village of Waterloo can be a part of the celebration given its strong Federal and New York State support demonstrating the achievements of Teamwork inspired by the Waterloo Community.
